Section 1: Numerical Ability

  1. Numbers in ratio 5:7, LCM = 420
    • Let numbers = 5x and 7x
    • LCM = 35x = 420 → x = 12
    • Numbers = 5×12 = 60, 7×12 = 84
      Answer: 60, 84
  2. Boat problem:
    • Downstream speed = 30/3 = 10 km/h
    • Upstream speed = 30/5 = 6 km/h
    • Boat speed = (10+6)/2 = 8 km/h
    • Stream speed = (10–6)/2 = 2 km/h
      Answer: Boat = 8 km/h, Stream = 2 km/h
  3. Average of 10 numbers = 28, remove 34 & 42
    • Total = 10×28=280
    • Remove 34+42=76 → remaining = 280–76=204
    • Average = 204/8 = 25.5
