Comprehension Passage – Class 4
Name: ____________ Date: ____________
Passage:
Ravi loved animals very much. Every morning, he would go to the park near his house. He liked to watch the birds singing in the trees and the squirrels playing together. He often fed the pigeons and sparrows with crumbs of bread. One day, while he was walking, he saw a little puppy crying near the park gate. The puppy looked thin, hungry, and lost.
Ravi felt sorry for the puppy. He gave it some milk and a small biscuit. He gently picked up the puppy and took it home. His parents were surprised to see the puppy, but Ravi explained everything. His parents agreed to let him keep it. Ravi named the puppy “Lucky.”
Since that day, Lucky became Ravi’s best friend. They played together in the garden, went for walks in the evening, and even slept in the same room at night. Ravi took good care of Lucky, gave him food, and made a small bed for him. Sometimes, Ravi took Lucky to the park so the puppy could meet other animals. Ravi was happy, and Lucky was happy too.
