Passage: The Honest Woodcutter

Once upon a time, there lived a poor woodcutter in a small village. Every day, he went to the forest to cut wood and earn his living. One day, while cutting a tree near a river, his axe slipped from his hand and fell into the water.

The woodcutter became very sad because it was his only axe. Suddenly, a kind fairy appeared before him and asked why he was crying. After hearing his story, she dived into the river and brought out a golden axe. The woodcutter said it was not his. Then she brought out a silver axe, but again he refused.

Finally, she brought out his old iron axe. The woodcutter was overjoyed and said it was his. The fairy was pleased with his honesty and rewarded him with all three axes.
